some updates... finally!!

So, I will try to give as much of an update as I can... I am very tired... and speaking of which, here is the first update: the puppies are NOT sleeping through the night! I have had enough of it and after talking to several people, have come up with what I think is a possible (and hopeful) solution. I was in a lose-lose position. As Ryan said, I needed to stop going to them to tell them to be quiet, etc. because I was just giving them attention... yes, but if I didn't try, they would resort to barking, which would wake up Jack... lose-lose... SO, my plan is: I started my couch-to-5K plan and took both Jack and the puppies on my day 1 training... they were pretty worn out!! I bought them a couple toys as well, including two balls (one lights up) and Jack thinks I'm the best mommy and bought him new toys! (He got upset that the puppies were playing with them... so they became the "after Bubby goes to sleep" toys!) I also got them kongs, which I filled with a mixture of dog food and peanut butter and crammed in them... kept them pretty busy! Now they are chewing on bones and its 10:30... so, my plan is to wear them out and keep them up until we go to bed. I am going to keep their crates next to each other and semi-covered and I am going to put an old shirt in each so they have our scent. I am going to play music in Jack's room (and possibly where they are sleeping, which is the playroom) so that hopefully if they start barking, it wont wake him up. I am going to put his baby monitor on (which we havent had to do in a while) and wear earplugs so I am less likely to go out to them. Hopefully within a couple days of us not going to them (except once a night ~3 to start for potty time), they will start to sleep through the night and actually go BACK to sleep when they wake up!! I'll keep you posted as it pans out... here are two photos of them when I took them to work one day...

Update two: I PASSED MY DNA ORAL BOARD!! YAY!! I was very nervous because there is SO much information to know, and then I am in a room with 4 people (and 1 on the phone), asking questions with no limits... agh!! It lasted two hours, which is actually pretty good. Means I did a good job explaining everything in enough detail that too many follow up questions werent needed! So, YAY to me!

Update three: JACK.... Well, Jack has had some ups and downs... for one, he has gotten two of his canine teeth in and the others are right behind... so he has been a little cranky!! One morning, he woke up and cried for about an hour... then, within two hours of being at daycare, we received a call to pick him up because it was so early and he had already bit three kids!!! EEK!!! The rest of that day he was pretty grumpy too... but luckily, the next couple days were better!! He LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and LOVES the Hot Dog Dance Song!! He will come RUNNING when he hears it!! He also dances to it-- really cute! He says SO much now, too... we have to be careful of what we say around him because before we know it, he is catching on!! This morning, he came in our room and grabbed Ryan's phone and held it out, said "phone" and brought it to Ryan. Then he did the same with mine and brought it to me. Then he goes to my shoes and says "shoes" and brings them to me... he loves to tell the puppies to "get down" when they are jumping up on him; saying "sit down" when he is standing in a chair and he shouldnt OR if we are getting a meal together for him, he goes to his highchair and (YES) CLIMBS in himself, while saying "sit down!" He loves to point out our car and say "ar car"; he pulls out the straw of his BIG BOY CUP and then says "oh nooo!" ha ha! its really funny! THEN.... he also will say "NO" and push away his sippy if he doesnt want what we put in it... it was cute at first, but now... not so much! well, its cute but frustrating at the same time!!

We went to the DC area recently for Ryan's sister's high school graduation! CONGRATULATIONS HAYDN!! While there, we also went to the National Zoo... Jack LOVED the Toucan! He would hold onto the bar tight every time we tried to take his stroller away so that we could move on!
Well, thats it for now!!
